Cutter Gauthier and Jamie Drysdale are switching NHL clubs

Philadelphia receives Drysdale, a defensive back, and a second-round pick in the summer 2025 draft in a player trade. Gauthier, on the other hand, will go to Anaheim.

The 19-year-old top talent is reluctant to play in Philadelphia behind Gauthier's transfer, which is slated for a fifth season in Philadelphia in the summer of 2022.

– This situation has been going on for a long time. We gave him time and tried several times to contact him. He doesn't want to communicate. At some point we had to make a decision as GM of Philadelphia Daniel Pryor tells the media.

– I tried to protect the young man. We hoped he would change his mind. But he had already done that. He told us at the draft that he wanted to be a Flyer and a few months later he didn't want to play for the Flyers, Pryor is surprised.

Gauthier led USA to the World Championship in the recently concluded U-20 World Championship. Gauthier scored 12 points in seven games, ranking second in the tournament's points market.

– Considering the events of a few days ago, we thought now was the time to give him more credit, says Prier.

Gauthier, who also played at the senior world championships last spring, has 23 power points in 17 games this season at Boston University.

Drysdale, a 21-year-old bound for Philadelphia, has already played 123 games in the NHL at his young age. This season, the Canadian pack has five power points in ten matches.
