Puljujarvi was named to the Leijoni EHT team in April. People from the NHL also came to the league By Michael Granlund And Ollie Matton Venues are already on sale, but Puljujärvi still needs to play at its own stadium.
Before Thursday, Puljujärvi had last played in Leijon in December 2019, when he was cooling off with the national team at the Russian EHT tournament. It was good to be back in Lejon after a four-year break.
– Yes, it was great to play. Good mood and we are playing well as a team, it is very nice to take such victories, Puljujärvi said after the successful Czech match.
– Nothing (competition place) is guaranteed. Now we try to put the best on the table.
Puljujarvi’s season has been challenging as he spent a long time rehabbing from hip surgery he underwent over the summer. Puljujarvi only returned to real action earlier in the year when he signed a tryout contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
A stint in the AHL earned Puljujarvi a two-year NHL contract and during this season Puljujarvi finally accumulated 13 AHL games and 22 NHL games. The big hitter promises to be in full game condition.
– We are in good shape, so let’s enjoy it.
